Brand new from DK's Ultimate Sticker Collection comes Star Wars: The Force Awakens Stickerscapes
This book is a visual feast of images in the form of “over 1000
stickers” from the
upcoming film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Like previous DK Star Wars sticker
books it includes many, many different stickers of varying sizes depicting characters,
aliens, vehicles and droids. There are many doubles of stickers, so you can put
one in the stickerscape scenes & still keep one in the book, etc.
This collection focuses only on The Force Awakens, and
possibly only a fraction of it. As with most of the toys and other products
available since Force Friday (Sept. 4), the focus is on new characters Rey,
Poe, Finn, BB-8, Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma. “Legacy” characters Chewbacca,
C-3PO & R2-D2 are also here, but nowhere to be seen are Luke, Leia or Han.
Chewbacca is the only alien here representing a movie that will likely be FULL
of alien species, so it’s safe to say this book won’t spoil too much of the
movie.
Many of the images are photos or very realistic digital
images but there are also some fun graphic images too. Some of those would (and
probably will) make great T-shirts.
My only complaint would be the provided backgrounds - the “stickerscapes”-
to create your scenes. The art is pretty unimaginative there. In a way it has a retro comic feel or even looks more like old Colorforms backgrounds, but I would’ve
preferred a photo especially considering so many of the stickers are photos.
Other than that The Force Awakens Stickerscapes is a beautiful collection of
images from the upcoming movie and should give keen-eyed fans of any age PLENTY
to enjoy and speculate about.
